Alto Tomarapi – 4,398m

This very small pass is only a 300m climb from the bridge over Rio Sajama on the main Arica-Patacamaya highway. Located on the northern slopes of Bolivia’s highest mountain, there are great views of the volcanoes in Parque Nacional Sajama, and Sajama and Tomarapi villages both have lovely colonial churches.
