Provincia de Salta, Argentina
This was an unexpected pass for us. We knew little about the road via Catua and asked the police in Olacapato what it was like. ‘Totally flat’ they replied. 400m of climbing up a valley later we reached the top of the pass. The surface on the climb was fine but while the scenery improves the surface deteriorates on the descent to Catua.
