Region II, Chile
This pass is the highest point on the wonderful road over the Paso Sico. Half way up the climb (when going east to west) is the desolate Chilean SAG post, while the more comfortable Mina El Laco buildings sit just off the road a few kilometres into the descent. This remarkably beautiful region is regularly battered by strong westerly/north westerly winds.
