Departamento de Potosi, Bolivia
This is a gentle climb from Alota, and from the village you can see where the pass is to the north of Volcan Caquella. The initial part of the climb is on an excellent surface and though it gets worse as you near the top it is still good by Bolivian standards. There are good views of volcanoes and salares on the descent to Estacion Avaroa.
